THYROID DENTAL
HEALTH CONNECTION

The thyroid gland and its hormones play an important role in the regulation of growth, development and metabolic functions of the body.

Thyroid diseases include a group of conditions that can affect the delivery of dental care.

Your dentist can be a partner with you in providing good oral health care to help you maintain a healthy immune system.

Before going to your dentist, be sure to have a current check up with your doctor to ensure your thyroid levels are within normal range.  This will help to ensure a good dental visit.  If you have questions or concerns about how your thyroid condition may affect your dental care, ask your dentist to contact your physician to provide a team approach toward your overall care.
